Speaker: Dr. Jin Hong The University of Western Australia Title: Quantum Inspired Machine Learning for IDS Abstract: Quantum-inspired Machine Learning (QiML) is an emerging field, which aims to leverage principles of quantum mechanics within classical computational frameworks. A growing number of researchers are exploring in the area and application of QiML, with techniques including tensor network simulations, dequantized algorithms, and others. The benefits of “Quantum” components used in conjunction with classical ML is still not well explored, with mixed results where some applications saw improvements, while others have not. In this presentation, we'll discover more about what QiML is, and observe its application in the IDS domain. Bio: Dr. Jin Hong is a Senior Lecturer (softly equivalent to Associate Professor in the US system) at the University of Western Australia, Australia. He received a Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 2015, where he also completed his Postdoc between 2016 to 2017. His research interests include security modeling and analysis of computers and networks (including cloud computing, SDN, and the IoT), moving target defense, privacy-preserving techniques and applications, and machine learning for cybersecurity. 会場: 3F902 世話人:町田 文雄 (システム情報系 情報工学域) 世話人連絡先:machida@cs.tsukuba.ac.jp |
