Call for Designs
The 3rd International Workshop on Highly Efficient Accelerators and Reconfigurable Technologies (HEART) is a forum to present and discuss new research on accelerators and the use of reconfigurable technologies for high-performance and/or power-efficient computation. In addition to them, this year will hold the FPGA design-contest "Connect6 Revenge" on 30 May 2012, in conjunction with the technical committee on reconfigurable Systems (RECONF) of IEICE, Japan.
Important dates (PST, UTC-8):
- Design Contest Entry: April 9, 2012 (EXTENDED)
- Paper submission: April 20, 2012
- Author notification: May 4, 2012
- Camera-ready due: May 11, 2012
- Design submission due: May 29, 2012
- Design contest: May 30, 2012
Deadline extended to April 9th, but we'll close if we have too many teams before the deadline.
FPGA Design
Contest participants are required to register by March 26th, by following instructions at
FPGA DeCo 2012 and to attend to a host-communication test having your FPGA board and your design at the conference venue on May 29th. Your design submission to Design Contest Co-chairs is not required until the host-communication test on May 29th. However, if your design does not work on May 29th, your entry will be canceled. You have to complete your FPGA design up to May 29th.
Design contest paper (Option)
Please submit a camera-ready summary of up to 4 pages including figures, tables, and references by April 20th.
In this contest, paper submission is optional.
If you want to submit your paper as a design contest paper, you can submit your paper by April 20th. In this case, your paper will be reviewed by dedicated reviewers who will not do entry for the contest, and if your paper is accepted, it will be included in the HEART proceedings. Of course, you can submit your paper as a HEART regular or a HEART short paper. However, in this case, the paper will be technically reviewed. In addition, please notice that someone of HEART reviewers might do entry for the contest. If you want to hide your design up to the competition date, you should submit your paper as a design contest paper, not as a HEART regular nor short paper. Note that, all possible paper submissions are optional. Even if your paper is rejected for publication, you can participate to the design contest at conference venue.
Award ceremony
The awards ceremony of the contest will be held at the welcome reception on 30 May.
