1st week: "Introduction to Image and Speech Coding" Purpose of coding, Statistical property of signals, Genral way of thinking to develop coding methods 2nd week: "Predictive Coding" Delta Modulation (DM), Differential Pulse Code Modulation (DPCM) 3rd week: "Transform Coding" Overall structure of transform coding, Various orthogonal transforms, Examples of transform coding methods 4th-5th weeks: "Other Coding Methods" Subband coding, Vector quantization, Video coding |
