Outline This lecture introduces techniques in the field of computer graphics (CG) and human interface. Regarding CG, we explain the recent trends in geometric modeling and rendering as well as the researches on CG-based interface. Especially on human interface, we explain how interfaces should be and the examples of interfaces corresponding to the senses and physiological functions of human beings who receive or transmit information, from aspects including sense organs, software, devices and design logic.
Course plan "geometric modeling and graphics interfaces" the history of computer interface, methods in geometric modeling in CG, various geometric representations, implicit functions, morphing, pen-based modeling, animation control and representations of virtual objects.

"rendering methods" photorealistic rendering, non-photorealistic rendering, global illumination, image-based rendering, image-based lighting and techniques based on high-dynamic range images.

"esthesiophysiology and interface design" subjectivity of sensory information, psychophysical problems, measuring techniques of sensitivity threshold, design techniques using optical systems for measuring visual functions, operating characteristic of rotation using quaternion.
