He received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Keio University, Japan, in 2004, 2006, and 2010, respectively.
From 2006 to 2008, he was with Toppan Printing Co, Ltd., Japan.
From 2008 to 2011, he was a Research Associate at the Global Center of Excellence (G-COE), Keio University, Japan.
From 2010 to 2011, he was a Research Fellow at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and a Visiting Scholar at the Video Processing Group, University of California, San Diego, La Jolla, CA, USA.
From 2011 to 2012, he was an Assistant Professor at Nihon University, Japan.
In 2012, he joined the University of Tsukuba, Japan as an Assistant Professor, where he has been an Associate Professor since 2019.
Since 2024, he has been a Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan.
His current research interests include signal processing and its applications to media content.
From 2017 to 2021, he was an Associate Editor of the IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, where he has served as an Area Editor since 2023.
