"On Accelerated Arnoldi Method for the Computation of PageRank"

Abstract: A new Arnoldi iteration method based on general
inner product is presented for computing the PageRank problem.
From practical point of view, we proposed an accelerated
Arnoldi method with an adaptive inner product introducing
by the residual computed in the last loop. Numerical experiments
show that the accelerated Arnoldi method is efficient and faster
than Power method and Arnoldi-type method [Golub, Greif, BIT, 2006]
when the dampling factor is relatively large.

"A new method for handling the solvability condition
associated with incompressible flow in complex geometries"

Abstract: The pressure equation (projection equation) can have either
infinitely many solutions or no solutions.
In this presentation, an efficient algorithm for
handling the solvability condition is described and examples are
presented; one example is the simulation of a beating heart on a
dynamic hierarchical adaptive grid structure. The algorithm that is
proposed is applicable on parallel computing platforms.
