Gene Golub Around The World

This symposium is part of Gene Golub Around the World Day.
A celebration of Gene Golub will take place around the globe on Friday February 29, 2008, the date that would have been his 19th birthday.
The following places are confirmed to organize a celebration: Stanford, Adelaide, Auckland, Berlin, Canberra, Dartmouth, Mass., Delft, Hong Kong, Leuven, Linköping, Mexico, Moscow, Oxford, Pisa, Porto, Shanghai, Tel Aviv, Tripolis, Greece, Tsukuba, Japan, Urbana-Champaign and Waterloo.

Attendance to the symposium is free and registration is not required.

Gene Golub, Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, was a pioneer in the field of numerical analysis. He passed away at age 75 on November 16, 2007. A brief biography is available from Stanford News Service.
